TESCert is a cloud-based certification platform for temporary electrical systems — producing BS 7909-compliant documentation for events, live productions, film & TV, broadcast and any application where temporary power is installed, inspected and certified.
Temporary electrical systems for events, concerts, festivals, film sets and broadcast productions carry significant safety obligations. The person responsible for a temporary electrical system — the Competent Person — must produce a certificate confirming the installation has been designed, installed and inspected in accordance with BS 7909 before power is energised.
In practice, most of this certification still happens on paper or in Word documents — forms that vary between engineers, get completed under time pressure on site, and are difficult to store, retrieve or audit. TESCert replaces that with a structured, guided certification workflow that produces a consistent, professional, locked PDF every time.
Developed by Construct Software — the team behind SafetyCert, ElectraCert, CableSpec and the wider suite — TESCert brings the same rigour to temporary systems certification that the rest of the suite brings to permanent installations and compliance management.
TESCert is structured around the three core documents and processes that BS 7909 requires for any temporary electrical system — from initial design sign-off through to handover and de-energisation.
The primary certification document confirming the temporary electrical system has been designed, installed and inspected by a Competent Person in accordance with BS 7909. Required before any temporary system is energised.
Detailed inspection and test records confirming each distribution unit, cable run and connection point has been checked against the BS 7909 requirements. The evidential backbone of the certification.
Management of the full event electrical register — tracking all certificates issued for a production or event, managing handover to the venue or client, and maintaining the record through de-rig and sign-off.
TESCert is built around the reality of events work — tight timelines, on-site completion, last-minute changes and the need for documentation that holds up under scrutiny after the fact.
Every certificate is rendered as a locked, professional PDF on completion. Protected against editing — the record reflects exactly what was certified at the time.
Complete inspection records and certificates on a phone or tablet during rig. Designed for use in marquees, arenas and outdoor environments — not just the office.
Share completed certificates with venue safety managers, promoters and production companies via a secure link. No login required on the receiving end.
Every action timestamped and attributed — creation, inspection completion, amendments and sign-off. A tamper-evident record for every event.
Draw your Competent Person signature on screen. Embedded in the locked PDF and stored against your profile — no printing or scanning required.
Every event has its own register linking all certificates, inspection records and handover documentation. Searchable by event name, venue, date or client.
Your company logo appears on every certificate and share page. Present your own identity — not a generic template — to venues and clients.
When systems change after initial certification, log the modification and re-certify. Amendment records are linked to the original certificate with a clear change history.
Attach photos directly to inspection items on site. Images are stored against the relevant inspection record and included in the exported PDF documentation package.
Add engineers to your organisation account. Inspection records can be completed by multiple engineers across a large system, with the Competent Person signing off the whole.
All events and their complete documentation are stored permanently. Retrieve any certificate, inspection record or handover document from any past event instantly.
Construct Software ID gives you one login across TESCert, SafetyCert, ElectraCert and the full suite. No separate account if you already use other Construct tools.
TESCert is designed for the electrical professionals and organisations who install, inspect and certify temporary power for events and productions across the UK.
Replace paper forms and ad-hoc Word documents with a structured, standard-compliant certification workflow. Produce a professional, locked TES certificate on every job — on site, on time.
Manage your team's certification output across a season of events. Consistent documentation, complete records and a searchable archive of every production you've powered.
Receive and store TES certificates from your electrical contractors via secure share links. Maintain an auditable record of certification for every event held at your venue or managed by your production.
